Let's give this a whirl

It seems to be that the first post of any blog states, "I'm new to this". Well, yes I am in fact new to blogging. But, isn't this more about thought than writing on a web page. And if that's the case, I hope no one is new to this. I am a self proclaimed adult child, far from the definition of mature. Those who know me, know that well. What's wrong with that though? Why should we all be forced to grow up, and change what we want from life to fit into the rigid confines of what is society? I don't think there is necessarily anything wrong with that, if it's what you want. I don't know what I want yet, but I know I want do decide on my own.


Sometimes I wish I was a pirate. But, then I realize I'd be horrible at it. Sure, I love to sail and drink, but I'm lazy and stealing anything requires way too much effort. So I'd be the poorest pirate on the water. In fact, I wish I could really just lay on a beach, have a drink, watch the sun set and rise, and count birds. It's a pretty simple life, but a peaceful one.

I think that's really what I'm working towards in life. But, think of it as a metaphor. Replace the beach with a home, somewhere you can relax and watch the days drift by. Replace the drinks with loved one and friends that make the time you spend with them feel intoxicating. Replace the sunsets with evening at home filled with beauty and love, and the sunrise with days doing a job you love. Finally, don't replace the birds, I like birds.
